MANILA, Philippines — Hotel101 Global is entering its most ambitious year to date, with a record 2,229 new hotel rooms scheduled to become operational in 2026 across the Philippines, Spain, and Japan. The expansion marks the largest number of room openings in a single year for the Filipino hotel brand and reflects growing confidence in both domestic and international tourism markets.

The 2026 pipeline includes 519 rooms in Davao, 548 rooms in Cebu, 680 rooms in Madrid, Spain, and 482 rooms in Niseko, Hokkaido, Japan. Together, these developments significantly expand Hotel101’s operating portfolio while strengthening its presence in key leisure and business destinations.

Among the most anticipated openings is Hotel101-Davao, which is scheduled to welcome its first guests on July 30, 2026. With 519 rooms, it is set to become the largest hotel in Mindanao by room count, further reinforcing Davao City’s position as one of the country’s fastest-growing tourism and business hubs.

Meanwhile, Hotel101’s international momentum continues following the successful launch of Hotel101-Madrid, the brand’s first overseas property. According to the company, the hotel has already demonstrated strong operating performance, highlighting the growing acceptance of the Filipino hospitality brand in the global market.

Why This Matters

Hotel101’s expansion represents more than an increase in room inventory. It signals the continued recovery and long-term growth of the hospitality sector as developers invest in destinations with rising demand for leisure travel, corporate stays, and meetings and events.

For the hospitality ecosystem, additional hotel developments create opportunities beyond accommodation. New properties drive demand for furniture, fixtures and equipment (FF&E), operating supplies and equipment (OS&E), foodservice equipment, technology solutions, housekeeping products, and hospitality services. They also generate new employment opportunities across hotel operations, culinary, engineering, sales, and guest services.

The simultaneous expansion in Davao, Cebu, Madrid, and Niseko also demonstrates how Philippine hospitality brands are increasingly competing on a global stage while continuing to invest in high-growth domestic markets.

Hospitality Watch Insight

The Philippine hotel industry is entering a new phase of expansion. While Metro Manila remains a key market, developers are increasingly investing in regional cities such as Davao and Cebu, where tourism, infrastructure, and business activity continue to accelerate.

Hotel101’s record rollout reflects a broader trend: hospitality growth is no longer measured solely by occupancy, but by long-term investment in destinations that can support tourism, business travel, and the meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions (MICE) industry.

As thousands of new hotel rooms enter the market this year, suppliers, contractors, designers, restaurateurs, and hospitality professionals can expect increased opportunities across the industry’s value chain.
